CPSIA - Foreign Mfr Legal Acccountability Act Passes

Congress was listening. Your House Energy and Commerce Committee passed by voice vote today the Foreign Manufacturer Legal Liability Act of 2010 by voice vote. Now it proceeds to full committee or possibly to Ways and Means or possibly to the floor for a vote. I don't have the bill language yet.

Golly, I really appreciate all the hard work to protect me against . . . I'm not sure what. Protecting me against being able to earn a living?

Thanks, House Leaders!

Good grief. I just found out about this. How can anyone respond when Congress gives us no time?

I think that's the idea, Esther.

If you think that was a good move you should have seen today's public commission meeting. Apparently they have decided that if there is a product safety rule applicable to a children's product that rule is automatically considered a "children's product safety rule" even though the rule itself was never designated such.

And then we'll hear more about "un-intended consequences, eh?!"

To vote for the anti-business party or the anti-science party.. Politicians sure give us hard decisions these days.

One of the causes of the American Revolution (symbolised by "no taxation without representation") was the resentment by Americans against the British parliament's claim that it had the right to make laws for America. The principle was that Americans had no representation in parliament so it had no right to pass laws governing them. Now, in the 21st century, Congress apparently has decided to take the British Parliament's position, except now it claims the right to pass laws that the entire planet must abide by.
