Daiso was not given the opportunity to defend themselves in a court of law, just the court of Tenenbaum. Anyone in the US, not just children's product makers, should be very concerned about this.

Again from Madison.

"Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions."

-= essay in the National Gazette, March 27, 1792 =-E Melanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07954364009385391625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8811142208729284263.post-56976486151936917442010-04-04T16:19:40.864-05:002010-04-04T16:19:40.864-05:00I especially like this part in the Tenenbaum speac...I especially like this part in the Tenenbaum speach that you linked to.

"As many of you have heard me say before, I am also a believer in open government. It is integral to the Administration’s efforts to change the culture in Washington, and I believe it is integral to changing perceptions of CPSC.

CPSC is working hard to carry out President Obama’s order that came down on day one of his administration to disclose more records to the public.

Over these past nine months, I have made the Commission as accessible to the public as any time in its history. At the same time, I have made myself accessible to both industry and consumer groups. Or one of their suppliers, or the shopping center that they rent from, or the community that would rather not have an empty boarded up space where a merchant (and local employer and taxpayer) used to be.
To bad if you were planning on throwing a birthday party or an Easter egg hunt or a pinata filling with the inexpensive toys that Daiso now can't sell.
Funny how I can walk down the street in Japan and buy from Daiso, seemingly without endangering my kids. But I better not bring any of those Daiso purchased toys home to America.
Big Lots, Dollar Store, even Walmart, better watch out.Sebastianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04009107720601931341noreply@blogger.com
